My work deals with ideas of displacement, decentralization and loss. Through a language of displacement and
fragmentation, a set of objects, images and memories
articulate the process of the home becoming unhomely; the familiar becoming unfamiliar.
I am interested in how the uncanny perpetually inhabits the language of aesthetics, and how memory and the
unconscious contribute to this ambiguity.
My photographs contain seemingly familiar elements;
elements that have been placed within rootless memories;
disparate elements compressed into one visual component. The resulting images transcend their inherent losses, allowing the works to sit within the gray area of language whereby the familiar is made strange.
