'Scott's paintings are a process of exploration, of
messages revealing the discoveries made during his investigations.
There is, of course, the seed of an idea when he
begins, a sensation and experience of the real world, but he is quickly directed by the work, answering its needs, cultivating states of mind.
Working with a sense of immediacy, he creates marks with paint, not making distortions out of people but more making people out of distortions. This wrestling match between abstract marks and figure making exhilarates the artist.
Experiences he has in paint, that ultimately he hopes, are experiences that others can relate to.'
